Dang I hate being predictable :-\

Stopped and saw the "Old Hippie" at gander today. Needed some materials and thread. I have to say, Pete has done a nice job stocking fly tying materials there. Good to see.

It was also nice to see his focus on customers. Rare for a big box store. Great job Doc :clapping:

Wait a  minute....we're agreeing on something... ???

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Got it marked on the calender RG. @ 2:39 pm, this day will live in infamy.... wait that was another day.
Any ways..... got the boat cleaned up today(dang trees) for a trip to the lake. Now looking like Monday will be the best bet for weather that won't blow you off the water. Good fly tying weekend....

Go to my head?

You should be honored  ;D

1fish Looks like I'll be tying tomorrow and Sunday. I hope to get "the Old Man" out Monday. I'm sure the stream will be fishable in the AM. No rain at all so far.Wind has been up and down. 0 - 30mph +. The temps and humidity finally broke and it's quite pleasant right now. Just had a real blast of North wind. A good 25 degrees cooler than when I got home at 2:30.

I'll run in the AM and then decide what the day is gonna be ;D

No problem Pete.
I was pleased to see someone actually helping a customer who asked. They should hire more "Old Hippies".

OK so maybe Trapper is on to something regarding trolling..... We hit the water today at 7am. Wind was constant at 10-20mph, rain showers, Waves were running 1.5' unless the gusts got them going into rollers. First time I really wasn't comfy in the new boat. It sits high in the water and only 15' she gets to bobbing like one of those old drinking birds that perched on a glass.    Boat control was up to the big guy...I wasn't doing it.... ;D

I was a bit under the weather yesterday, so I worked on some patterns and re-arranged my bench so I can expand. I'm going to double my work area in the next week.

Anyway,
I'm still working on my Hellgrammite pattern...it's getting there.

And some fun with ants and beetles ;D

The other night I caught a nice smallie on one of these little green buggers.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate tomorrow morning so I can test these.

It's addicting. Worse than that....I'm doubling the size of my fly bench and setting up a rod building bench. I haven't had that since I lost everything in a basement flood a number years ago. When that happened, I lost 20 years worth of fly tying and rod building materials. Despite all my efforts, everything mildewed, my benches warped and de-laminated...it all ended up in the dumpster.

Sad day!
