funny   how   time  slips  bye  ...   were  looking  at  the  beginning  of   augest  ! clousers and   bait  fish imitations...crayfish  and  wollybuggers   down   deep  ....  terrestrials  on  top  ....frogs  and  gurgglers   for   bass....  in  away  it's  my  favorite   time , so  much  less   pressure in  the  streams  and    fish  are  not  as  selective ....low  water   streams  i  look   for   cooler  temps   and  oxygen in  lakes     structor  it's  the  lazy    days  of   mid  summer  after  fishing  a  stop  at  the  ice cream  stand  with  the  women  or  the   grand  kids  is a  must,   remebering   a  extra  water  bottle  ....smell  of  sun  screen  .... seeing  the   woodchuck  in  the  newly   hayed   field  and  thinking  he'd  make  some  nice  flies  .....   but  i  like  watching  him  run  even  more .....the   young  geese   are  grown   and  yuck  at  the  launch....i see  a  hot   dog  truck  pulling  in  by  the  lake ............. LIFE  IS  GOOD  !!!!!

All the charm of the angler's life would be lost but for these hours of thought and memory. All along the brook, all day on lake or river, while he takes his sport, he thinks. All the long evenings in camp, or cottage, or inn, he tells stories of his own life, hears stories of his friend's lives, and if alone calls up the magic of memory.

Sure do! They've probably eaten everything in sight by now.

I have an R&R day tomorrow compliments of the owner of the company I work for. I'm going to Long Island next week to train some contractors and roll out a major project. He gifted me a day of fly fishing for the  effort. Kinda nice really.

So....I'll have breakfast with the "Grumpy Old Men" and hit the stream. The fish were on fire yesterday, so I'm looking forward to a good day.

Beats the hell out of work
