i'm  old  but  i  can  make  a  dry  fly land  sweet  and  soft  on   the  water   ;D  thank  you  RG  ,   today  i  have  to  head  up  to pulaski  to  get  some  tying  supplys   then  hitting  the  afternoon  shift  down  to  the  river  ....  i'll poke  and  hope  till i  find  some  good  gills  .....  then i'm    going  to  relax  at  the  bench  eat  homemade  apple  sauce   and   tying  flies  ...   the  yankees  are  in  the  playoffs  ...the  bills  are  undefeated  ...  and  my  house hold  appears  to  be  healthy  this  week ....  life  is  good  ............unless  yer  a  bluegill in my  river   ;D

Speaking of fly rods....I just picked up a perfect FF856 Fenwick to feed my rod/reel addiction. It's the same model as my very first fly rod. It's early 70's vintage and looks to never have been used. I was happy to replace the one I fished to death long ago. The gills are in trouble Sunday Morning :w00t:

I also acquired a very nice South Bend Oren-O-Matic 1140-d from the 50's for the South Bend collection. I only need 4 more of the "Red Reels" to complete the series.

And I thought my jig collection was a problem :-\

RG  sometimes  to  go  forward  you  have  to go back   ;D  i'm glad  your  having  such a  good  time  with it !  tomorrow  i plan on  taking  this  here  8 wt  and  using  a  strike  indacator   and  short  line  nymph  fish  ...i'm betting i  can line  ever  salmon in a  run  just  as  slick as  any  center  pin  ;D

Don't get me started :nono:

I think there was a hit man following me for a while after I last expressed my opinion.

I was whipping a line around the back yard today with the "new...old" Fenwick . Man is that thing sweet. Soft and powerful.  I think I'm having stirrings :-[
