It seems fly fishers who chase carp are the most affable of the species.

RG
I don't always chase carp, but when I do I chat with rgfixit! ;D ;D ;D The furled leader's that rg makes are GREAT! I even think they are better than than the blue sky ones i've purchased. I'm sorry I have not been around much life and work always come first. How has everyone been? I hope everyone has been safe and are well with all this flooding going on.
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish.

That's a good video. Carp on the surface. What a riot.

Love the underwater drag and the behind the neck landing.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Class at the Orvis shop?

That's gonna cost you. Just wait till she whips out the old credit card for brick-a-back and Orvis wear  :rotflol:

Classes are free. I already got her all the gear and clothing she needs. We tie our own flies. I did buy a $40 practice rod . Still not bad.

Got out early this morning.

Had a great day with the fly chaser from the boat. Bass, gills and even a fatso crappie. It hit a clouser. Swam a bit...snoozed a bit...Nice!

I'll be right back at it tomorrow morning. Gonna try for some walleye.

Went 2 for 3 on walleye this morning. Didn't get a sniff trolling. Had to go to finesse fishing a crawler. #6 octopus hook, barrel swivel no weight. Hook the crawler through the nose and be very patient . Couldn't resist tossing some flies for bass and gills. The "Hoppercator Rig"with a nymph trailer did the trick. Bass were willing to take Clousers in Brown and chartreuse.

Another fun morning....and........tomorrow, I'll still be at it ;D

Love mini vacations :flag: :flag: :flag:

Rg...Have you given previous tying instructions and photos of "The Hoppercator?"  I'm interested in trying one.

No tying instructions, but here's the pics.

Hoppercator

Just a foam hopper with a loop fore and aft. Any foam bug will work with the added loops.
