I don't ever post here but your post Trapper stopped me in my tracks. You summed it up perfectly. Thanks

Hey Trapper,
I did some recalculations. Only 78 working days left!

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Belated congrats RG.  Hope your retirement fund allows you to continue to buy more toys.  ;D

Now you can really get to use the 400,000 flies you tied.

Thanks Bart,
Part of my retirement plan was to accumulate enough toys to last until Rapture. Pretty sure I have that many. I know I have enough flies ;D I might have to visit sometime.

I'm covered Trapper, on all 3 counts ;D

Just so you know, I WILL have a kayak by the time I abandon the work-a-day life. I'll need some expert lessons from a suitably old and knowledgeable ...fart. Question is.....sit on or sit in?

I guess I was looking for the good and bad of each from a fishing perspective. Seems like the open models are more geared toward fishing options as far as storage, rod holders, bait wells, anchor points etc.

The marina on the canal down the road from my house rents them and often does demos in association with LL Bean. I'll hit one of those and try a couple.

considerations   are  what  water  what  temps  your  fishing  in   wet  suit  or  waders  on?  now  I  can  eskimo  roll  well  at  least  I  could  2  years  ago  ....  trouble  is  add  a  rod   strap  a  bag  on  and  some  goodies  and  it  doesn't  roll  back  so  easy !  so  you  got  to  bale  out  roll  it  back  and  get  back in  .....  the  sit  on  is  much  easier  to  roll  back  over  and  get  back  on   it's  easier  to  rig  and  it's  enjoyable    in  cold  weather  I  weat   a  wet  suit  but  neop.  waders  work .....  all in  all I  like  the  sit  on  it's  easy to  get  on  off   it's  easy  to  roll back  and  get  on  even  in  rougher water  plenty  of  room  and  your  legs  can  better  in  warm  weather
