I hear you Jim. Just spent the afternoon with my Daughter, Grandson and Son-in law. Priceless time for sure.

I did however get to the stream this morning to test my newest fly creation;

One little largemouth on a fly that I tied using a rod and reel from decades ago is just as priceless.

Life is a mix of what you like to do, what you want to do, what you need to do and what you have to do. The secrets are to balance those elements in a way that doesn't drive you crazy and to live as long as you possibly can.

wanna  go  google  H U M O R  .....

well i  went  back  to  my  super  secret  "PRIVATE" lake spot   reserved  for  only  raking members  of  the  elite old farts  with  flyrod club  members  .......  little  slower  today  but  i  still  got  a  good  work out  with the  flyrod  ......was  kinda  a  shame  catch  wasn't  ...................i  needed  someone  to  run  for  coffee  ....oh  if  anyone   has  been  fishing  the  super  secret "PRIVATE"  rock  duke  spot  and  left of  lost a  tackle  box  i  found  it  and  it's  with the  guard   just  stop  and  tell him .....

catch you missed a  good day buddy  .......

So tell me, if I own more than 3 fly rods of varying lengths and weights, and, ... I am less than 60 but more than 50 years old and fish with those rods, do I qualify as a member of the "old farts with fly rods" club?.... Also, I think you meant ranking, not raking.

Hey....a variety pack ;D

A very good friend just gave me an Orvis battenkill impregnated bamboo to test out for him. This thing is pristine and I'm scared to death to take it to the stream. But....he insisted that I give it a cast, so, tomorrow morning I'm gonna take a deep breath and try it out on some panfish.

I built him a rod a while back and he wants another. He asked me to size a reel and line for the Orvis for him. I have a few to try, but I think the WF6F Cortland Sylk is gonna be the one.

I chose a Leland Vintage Series Golden Trout reel for him.

I think it will fit the rod to a "T".

Enjoy the Orvis, RG.  I think that's cool!
     One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.
