No problem, it looked like a long link.

My friend had been to Matching Manitou many years ago.  We were up that way last year and even with the logging plant shut down, the gravel road were very passable at 50 mph, and the 12 mile road into camp wasn't so bad either.

I love Cabala's and have been a loyal customer for many years and  I'll have the rod in time to try it out a couple of times before the big trip.    As soon as I get a couple of hours, I will tie up some gaudy flies for the pike, I have an 8 weight I made years ago that has been sitting far too long.

Actually it's Matchi Manitou. Sometimes the iPad spell assist has a mind of its own.

I'm headed out to the backyard stream a little later. I find that with a full moon it's better in the afternoon. Trying to decide what rod to take.  :-\

Maybe the 3 wt.

I hadn't touched a fly rod since late april... Kids were busy with Tank so I snuck up the neighbors pond and caught a few of these on foam hoppers...  ;D

Good Grandpa!

Tank and the crumb snatchers look content. Nice gill too.

The stream was still riled up and the fish were uncooperative. But, tomorrow is promised to no one  ;D.

Just wanted to post I was able to get a TFO 8wt, 9' rod off ebay. I got it for a very good price complete with reel, fly line and backing.
I took it out to the yard tonight. It is by far the nicest casting rod I have. Makes me feel like I actually know what I am doing.

Good job KC!

Which model?

I have an Axiom and a Finesse. Love the Finesse. The axiom is a beast. I need real concentration to operate it.

That's alright Trapper, now that I'm retired, I'm beginning to understand what priorities really are. It's been a lot of years since I had control of my own schedule. It's all coming back to me  ;D

When are we going fishing?  ;D

Finally found some time to dust off the fly rod and go to our favorite pond.
This rainbow absolutely smoked my parmachene belle right next to the boat.

And my fiancé with hers

The fishing was hit or miss. It was a very late hatch, which was just before dark, and by that time the fish were turned off. But, catching fish there isn't what it's all about for me. It's where my grandpa taught me everything I know about fly fishing and let's me relive the memories I hope to pass on to my kids.
