Kenai starting to heat up
« on: Feb 28, 2005, 06:19 PM »
My friends have been fishing the kenai and it's starting to heat up. They are starting to catch more and bigger fish that are getting ready to spawn. They went out this saturday and only caught 5 between two people but they were all 6 pounds and up. They haven't reached their full spawning colors but are still colored up. I know the fishing will be much better in late march but from what i have heard it's worth it to go now.
I've never been to heaven, but i have fished  in  Alaska.

KC,  What's the latest update on the Kenai?  Thinking about a trip down south this week and would like to know if you have an update?  Thanks!  Barleydog

Really don't know right now barleydog cuz my anchorage and soldotna contacts are visiting kodiak right now. I am sure it is pretty good though based on last week where someone i knew caught 4 bows between 4 and 14 pounds. I would definetely go down there as soon as possible, i would if i had the time or money!
