That is awesome! Congrats to both of you!!!

I took my oldest boy (10) to PA on some public land. He had a swing and a miss on a tom. Just a bit too far for the .410. So next year he'll be caring the 20! We had a blast though. He got to hear a lot of gobbling and see some birds up close.

It's so awesome when the woods are filled with gobbling birds...
3 Jake's roosted together and they were gobbling like crazy at each other in the tree!!!
My boy shooting a 3 1/2" turkey load...
I told him when he pulls the trigger he wants to fold em up like a lawn chair!!!!
As rut Daniel's would say...
IF THE TRIGGER IS GOLD THE BIRD WILL FOLD

Not Turkey's but been hunting these. I found 171 so far this spring. 87 this morning. I post some pics in the "Lets see your fish" thread, but though this thread was more appropriate.

I have never seen a morel anywhere. I walked through a giant patch of ramps without knowing what they were the other day. Now I'm thinking I should go back and harvest some.

I did shoot a turkey on Friday morning, first one in probably 20 years. 8" beard, didn't get a weight on it.

New York state isn't the best state for morels, but they do grow. It doesn't compare the the Midwest or other Great Lake states. Last year I got blanked! Some years I'll find a few hundred. That's all part of the fun...and the eating! Dead elms, apple trees, tulip poplar, and cottonwood are all areas
they MAY grow. I found all 87 in the same area the other day. Struck out in about a half dozen other locales.
