I've got a pair of Fox with a litter under my barn. This is the second time in 3 yrs. I'm surprised at how many Turkey and rabbits that he brings home. The remnants are always scattered around after they get done with it. I watched 2 of them a few days back wrestling over a crow. They have to be great hunters considering how many birds they get.

The history of coyotes in this country has time and time again proven that "kill em all" will NEVER produce the results you want.

Killing them results in larger litters as well as reproducing at a younger age. Killing the dominant coyotes disrupts the pack causing them to spread out and start their own packs at higher reproduction rates. It does not decrease the population.

We've been trying to kill them all for 150 years and all we have done is help them spread to every inch of the country. We wiped out bears, cats, and wolves to brink of extinction with ease, buy coyotes are a different story.

The only thing that makes sense to me is hammering on them in the winter to reduce their numbers. Then they have less of an impact on the young of the year. Their numbers will rebound that year and then we do it all over again.

Managed to fill both my turkey tags, on 5/1 and 5/9, before I had to leave for my second summer in Alaska on 5/14;  both 5-6 yard shots.

Saw lots of wildlife driving through Canada on the Alcan Highway, including 15 black bears, plus the wildfires that were just getting started.

There have been a lot of moose around the field camp on Chilkat Lake this year...

A rare calm day on the lake...
