Bauls, from everyone I have talked to it has been pretty slow. I'm getting the boat wet this week, they should be bunching up pretty soon. I haven't heard anyone talk about "mayflies", maybe the up coming warm weather will get things going. Lots of baitfish....h2l

My buddy was on Oneida Friday and said the mayflies were starting up, fished Saturday with my father out of town of day launch  worm harnesses got us 9 keepers and a few throwbacks water was 65-66 degrees whenever a rain shower came through the fish would bite good

Fished yesterday with my Dad, my brother and my son for a little Fathers Day fun.

Fished over by Beacon Island, worm harness and bottom bouncers.   Caught a few bass and 3 walleye, all 13"-16" that get to live another day!

Marked a lot of fish and bait balls.  We were in 25-30 FOW and the fish were suspended around 15-18 feet.

What kind of rig do you guys use to get down to suspended fish?  Just use a sliding egg weight in front of the rig?

Oneida is just about snag free, good luck throwing 2 trebles on Sac.

Suspended fish, you can use that same rig. Just use less line.

JWALL Any number of ways. Starting to avoid bottom bouncers, too much tackle where not needed. Three ways, Lindy rigs etc. will get you where you need to be. Another choice is lead core for ease of use, Found one called Walleye Nation Death Jig-- Basically an Eire Dearie search bait. Nice thing it tells you, depth will be pretty much half what ever line you have out. 50 out 25 down etc. I may make that my go to for ease of use. I am pretty sure there are other similar, but if you know Eire Dearie you know what I am talking about.  Good luck. PS For me ease of use is important and also finding a consistent location as I am still learning the lake. If you saw the amount of terminal tackle, I have bought you would bust a gut.

I've had a ton of issues with line twist by using blade baits.  Seems as though it makes no difference what type of swivel that I use so I went to a rudder in front.  That solved it.  As far as depth control, I depend on lead core.

Every time I try blade baits I have trouble with the hooks fouling on my line.

Being a jig fisherman, I have tried them here on GSL and have caught some fish, but I have found that if the fish want an aggressive presentation I can get the same results "ripping" a jig. Plus, I don't keep many so I don't like the treble hooks....h2l
