Had a last minute opportunity to get out after bullheads last night.  Got a dozen fat ones with this 26" beauty that smashed a rapala in the weeds. It's getting a little buggy now with the lights on after dark

Made it down to the Catskills with my son for our annual spring trip. Daily routine was to sleep in a bit, then have a good breakfast at the local diner, then head over to the Beaverkill and fish the riffles for some morning rainbows.  Phase 2 was an afternoon on the West Branch of the D to hit the Hendrickson hatch where we found many trout right on the edge of the shore, sipping mayflies. Phase 3 was the night bite on another section of the river where we found many large trout taking flies on top until it was too dark to see and we left with fish still rising. Another memorable 3-day trip, good stuff.

And they kept coming after dark.
