Where are you guys seeing them? Far NW Indiana here. They aren't up here yet but it's getting close.

I went foraging with a buddy yesterday.

We didn't find any morels, but we were able to harvest some saddle mushrooms and ramps (wild leeks).

Hey all you mushroom guys :  I've been looking for morels for years. Obviously, I'm looking in all the wrong places. In upstate NY what type of area should I be looking in.  We're getting a bunch of rain now must be the time !

I went foraging again today.

No luck finding morels, but I did get some saddle mushrooms, plus some ramps and fiddleheads, so it wasn't a tota loss.

I went foraging with my buddy again today.

We harvested a whole bunch of ramps, a couple small saddle mushrooms and (finally) a morel - - which was my first.

I finally hit the jack pot tonight - - and found a dozen or so morels surprisingly close to home.

right on bog.  that first score is extra sweet!  my first one was right at dusk and i had to go home and get a head lamp so i could come back and keep searching.  been hooked ever since.  keep checking that spot, might be even better next year.
got a fish on the line and my boat on the water
and it's gettin' near time to take the cows to the slaughter

Not technically morels per se, but I did go foraging today.

First, I did some on my own and gathered a variety of greens (dandelion/mustard/dock/wild sorel/milk weed buds) that I plan to add to my sandwiches and/or salads over the course of the next week.

Then, I went with a buddy and we scored a few chanterelles, some bruised boletes and a lot of king boletes) plus a couple small zip-loc bags of sour cherries.

Sounds nice bog, hope the mosquitoes didn't make you pay  just not sure what "wild sorel" is, or any sorel for that matter
