Unexpected Visitor....
« on: May 20, 2018, 08:32 AM »
Hit the Q with my dad for some lakers and salmon.

We were on the water around 6:15 and were netting fish by 7.. It was a pretty busy trip..

We ended up with 5 lakers, 2 salmon, and 1 dropped salmon by the boat. I also got a chunky smallie as well.

All fish were released and swam off.

As for our visitor? It was a 3ft water snake, that had swam a good mile across open water right at the boat by one of the islands. Was pretty crazy to see! I was surprised an eagle or hawk didnt snatch it up.

PS.. My dad was on point with the photobombs lol

Nice fish Will!

If it had been a rattlesnake, it would have been heading for the island....

Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in awell preserved body; but rather to skid in side ways totally worn out shouting (holy sh*t)  WHAT A RIDE! FISH ON!.

That is the concern for most about the potential population of rattlesnakes on one of the islands there. Snakes can swim:-)

This snake was heading for an island, i think he heard some of his buddies had been dropped off and wanted to swim over and hang out =)

Crazy that it swam from the furthest point and made it all the way to the island.  The back sides of these islands are much closer to land.
