Title: Lower Saranac Lake Sept. 7-10
Post by: westernmas on Aug 28, 2018, 02:23 PM
Hi, I'm heading up to Lower Saranac the weekend of the 7th-10th.  We are renting a campsite and 20hp 16' lund from the marina.  Our campsite is located on the northern part of the lake.  If anyone has any tips to share it would be appreciated.  If possible I'm curious about the current water temps, general areas to target, water levels, and perhaps depths to target.  I know down in MA the pike and smallies are still quite deep.  Yesterday I caught them out of 25-30 feet of water but they were suspended so targeting them wasn't easy but I was able to pull up a few fish drop shotting.  Any information that you are willing to share would be appreciated.  We will mostly be targeting pike or smallies or really whatever is willing to bite.  PM me if that is preferred.  Thanks in advanced.

HAS been stocked with eyes.lots of bass and pike most small but some nice perch
there is a deep hole[55ft] north of eagle island[to the east side of middle] for pike
for smallies go to rocks, weed for most large mouth[lonesome bay] and try pike there
also---talk to bait store for latest

Thanks RiverRat.  The trip turned out great.  It took us a little while to get the fish dialed in but once we did it was game on.

Posted a review on the MA forum.  Thanks again!
