waaaaaaaay off topic
« on: Jun 03, 2007, 02:40 PM »
I'm looking for some advice on traveling through .. Leaving Mi's UP this week to travel to my sister's place in S. Lower MI. Just wondered if any of you living in Illinois might have an opnion on the 294 toll road vs the Lake Shore/Stoney Island/Skyway route, looks like the Dan Ryan is pretty tore up! Thanks in advance for any replies and tight lines to you all.

My personal opinion go the other way around the lake. ;D ;D  But really my limited experiance up there has taught me to either be through the city before 5:30 a.m. or wait til after the morning rush then try your hand at making it through.  My travels around the US has taught me if you can get through the major cities in the middle of the night you would be better to do this than during the day no matter what route you go.

If it wasn't 2 hours longer on the road I'd do that.
