Mac, do you still need that info on the draw of the Ulterra or no? Willing to help but an absolute electrical ignoramous.

Nope - hold off Geoff, and thanks bud.

I bought 3 deep cycle LA batteries for $99/each at Samsclub Saturday morning.
I will use them in the meantime.

Jeff got a call earlier today from a guy at FedEx.
He basically said it's lost and there's nothing they can do anymore.
He said the shipper needs to file a claim and go after FedEx for whatever.
So we will have the manufacturer build us another batter.
The three LA batteries will get us thru till the next one gets here, if and when it does.

Twice I paid for overnight Fedex shipping of trout eggs from Utah and twice they were late. The second time I got smart and got with the hatchery and we demanded a refund as they did not fulfill their end of the bargain. I got the shipping back which I think was about $180.00. This was pre Covid. The eggs were only $30.00!

All the shippers are not reliable right now. Don't even get me started on the Post Office which at one time could get my frozen fish to anywhere in the U.S. including Hawaii in 3 days Priorty Mail for half of what UPS charged.

I saw on the news the new Postmaster General is holding trucks until they are full to increase efficiency. Unfortunately that is delaying shipping.

Yeah, we get mail about every 3 days now. Still, there’s companies out there that ship on time and on schedule. A couple I buy craft supplies from are regular as ever. 3 days from Utah...no problem.

If you order anything out of country, you may as well go to the casino and play the slot machines.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Wow, that sucks. Pretty expensive piece of equipment to go missing!

Yea, we are working with the manufacturer now on getting another battery built, electrically balanced, and shipped.
Not sure when that will ship and then get here.
We have a fishing trip scheduled for the Western Basin of Erie in late June we are hoping it will be here for that.
I have doubts.
The LA batteries will work for now, but we will not be able to use them constantly.
Hence, the reason I asked for the amp draw on yours.
Jeff and I will measure ours to get a handle on amp consumption so we don't drain them while out and are forced to do a manual stow of the Ulterra.
I'm not to happy with FedEx right now.
They told Jeff yesterday they simply don't know where the shipment is.
The GPS tracked the railcar it was supposed to be on but they don't feel it even made it onto the car.

I order things from China and many other countries all the time Bob.
Never a problem.
Only takes more time.
Especially when it is something that cannot come by plane, like the lithium in these batteries.

And in this case it was the US freight company FedEx Freight that lost it.
It came to the US and passed through customs fine.
It got lost here in the US by FedEx Freight.

Well I'd be interested in what you come up with. I am seeing dramatically lower run times on my lead acid batts than I was a year ago. I'd guess I have 30-40 recharge cycles on my batteries since buying them about this time last year. I treated them really well, they came off the boat and were stored indoors and on battery tenders. Make sure to charge them ASAP after getting off the water. I thought I'd get 3 years with them, it just seems I am deep discharging more than I thought. I may need to upgrade to lithium earlier than I originally thought. Just wondering if I can get away with a 60ah 36v battery.

Yea Geoff.
I have read that 200 charges is about it on LA batteries.
Lithiums get 4000-6000 charges.
And, you can totally discharge the lithium without damaging it.
I know they are big bucks, but LA batteries actually cost way more if you really do an honest comparison.

More likely it was stolen by someone at fedex who had an idea of the value.

I wouldn’t order anything online that was that expensive. If I couldn’t lay hands on it at the time money changed hands there wouldn’t be a deal.

Sounds like it was stolen. Maybe inside job.

Maybe.
I’m on a lithium battery on boats board on FB.
1000’s of people buy these batteries.
Additionally, they all come from China.
All of them!!
For now of course.
The trick is to do business with a reputable supplier.
The guy I bought from is one of the best.
He is going to build me another and ship it.  He is going after FedEx for restitution.
