With the weekend pretty much undecided, got a late friday call that my sister and brother in law were coming out to relax....well....relax they did.....the guys got out for some fishing on the Turtle River....hotter than heck one minute....whooosh....strong wind.....and rain showers that cooled just a little too much....tanning one minute.....bundled the next...anyhow.....managed some nice walleye in one stretch of the river....most of it was dead....but we prolly caught around a dozen nice overslot fish....the biggest just squeezing 24".......late in the afternoon thought we were going to get tboned.....some local idiot by the looks of it running full blast up this little river totally oblivious to deadheads and US.....at the last minute throttled back and moved to the middle and right over a log bobbing on end.....around 4-5 kids in the boat....(at least wearing PFD'S)....and Gone!!!.....yesterday......after heavy overcast and light rain....headed over to Sandy Lake and managed around 10 or so nice northerns.....one big dandy on a pickerel rig....the rest on cranks.....fished about 2 hrs and headed home......no pics for this outing.....later.....Grump
