Robb & Ozzy on the KING
« on: Oct 01, 2006, 06:54 PM »
Ozzy and I made it out for a sweet day on the KING. The weather was excellent and the fishing couldn't have been better. We boated about 20 lakers and a ton of panfish 8). The lakers were still pretty deep at 85-115' on lead line rigs, nothing on the downrigger. The panfish were on the weedbeds in about 20-35'. We actually left when we ran out of bait.

Harry how have you been? Yep, before you know it we'll be walking on it!!

I troll pretty slow about 1.2mph on the gps, so if it's 100' deep I can usually get a good "snap" on the lure with 11 colors out. If the wind is pushing a little faster I have to let out more lead and if it's slowing me down I let out less lead. It's kind of trial and error, but usually I'm on the bottom within a half a color of the actual depth.

I just moved to the king and have been trying to boat my first laker. I've had no sucess yet because I don't have downriggers or lead, and I've been trying to jig them up.

I think you guys may have convinced me to invest in a lead setup.

Great photos, looks like you had a good time  8)
