stone lake cassopolis area

my brother used to fish this lake and did well back in the 80's....crappie and gills....any word on how good this lake is nowadays is appreciated...thanks...steve heckler...also, is there camping on/near the lake

steve,don't know where you are,years ago there was a campground just north of cass. on hwy. 62-there is or was a KOA  campground in granger,in 15-20 min. down the hwy. and there is a campground called Mellville's north of marcellus,mich. depending which way you drive that is about 20 min. away.these are all that come to mind now,but i am sure they are seasonal.This is not a sales pitch but mellvilles is located on saddle bag lake and you have accass to big fish and finch lakes by channels.All 4 lakes are good producers for bass&panfish.The south bend tribune paper has an outdoors colum in the friday edition in the sports section that gives reports from the area(www.south bend tribune.com.)Fridays report was good from the whole area but with this cold front-good luck.
