Memorial Day on the Inland Sea
« on: May 29, 2017, 11:48 AM »
Memorial Day at South Hero?   My son and his wife trolled the IS Fri and Sat from 5:00 AM to 3:00 and got skunked.  Never happened before.  They got some bass and pike at the end of the day.    Sunday after noon we took the kids out on Keeler Bay and found thousand of blue gill and some small mouth?   Weather was fantastic.   Maybe the first of June will get the salmon excited??

I have only heard of a couple fish being caught in the IS lately. Weird how slow the fishing there is!
perch bait on IS, if you couldn't figure that out on your own. ;)

I know that the bite for Warm water species is on.  :)  But the salmon bite is practically non existent.

Hi guys, I was finally out fishing Saturday morning too, launched at Apple. Boat is running smooth now that I worked out the kinks!!!
We tried redneck (no downriggers yet, used a trolling rod w/dipsy and spoons, another rod w/jet diver and pins minnows and a rod w/inline wing weights with stickbait) trolling the IS from cowbanks to the sandbar SP, and marked tons of baitfish, but not a single bite.
Gave up after a few hours and headed to the mouth of the Lamoille to try bottom bouncing and got skunked there too.
Saw a couple gar and could sight fish a few small pike but all had lockjaw.

We were out from 6 to 1.
Was good to get out finally and not have motor issues!
