Good luck guys.  Have to tow boat to get washed for quabbin so I'm skipping the opener.

Waters high but not as bad as last year.

I have to work Saturday - so I can onlycast for salmon a few hours in the morning. But I’ll be out there Sunday after the crowds let up and all day Monday.

I’ve got some 4 ounce C&R alien jigs ready to hook into a double digit laker this year! Among other large lure upgrades I’ve made with an eye toward Wachusett lunkers

Lead is fine at the chu as long as it 1 ounce or heavier.. anything under 1 ounce must be free of lead, to protect the loons.
wachusett is a no lead zone. no lead at all. anywhere else in the state you can use more than  ounce of lead. i had dnr rangers checking my 2oz weights at wachusett to make sure they are not lead.

I just double checked both state and reservoir regulation. I cannot find this. Got a link to regs?

i cant find it either. im tempting to call them because i have seen it before and out of hundreds of people i talk to fishing there everybody was on the same consensus that no lead is allowed

wachusett was a no lead zone before the 1oz lead law that was passes 3 years ago.

I beleive this changed with the passing of the 1oz lead law. They just dont advertise it. I cant find it anywhere saying you cant use lead.

Quabbin used to specifically say "NO LEAD". But starting last season their regs now read:

• The use of any lead fishing sinkers and lead jigs weighing less than 1
ounce is now prohibited in all Massachusetts inland waters.
(freshwater). There is a Lead Recycling Receptacle at each boat launch
area as well as in many locations around the reservoir. We encourage the
use of non-toxic weights, sinkers and jigs instead of lead.

https://www.mass.gov/regulations/321-CMR-400-fishing

The law is the law, you cant be fined for obeying the lead ban laws. 1 ounce and over is legal..
