Spawning Crappie? Morning or evening??
« on: May 18, 2018, 02:47 PM »
Water temps are in the 60,s so I'm hoping that crappie will be prepping for spawn.
I've only fished for them late afternoon and evening.  This weekend I will have only early morning to fish!  Anyone have any luck in shallow before noon?  I have a bunch of small shiners for bait to be fished under tiny bobber.

 8)  Never mind?  Took my shiners out late yesterday afternoon and almost caught my limit of 12 to 15 inch crappie.  Called a friend  (import from Florida) who dreams of crappie fry and he told me he was waiting with a cooler full of ice.  An hour later he had filleted them all and gave me back fillets from four.   Pretty good fishing for north of the white mountains.  I also drank some of his beer!
