Lower Lake Saranac Camping (pic heavy)

A few weeks ago I was asked to join a few friends to camp at Lower Lake Saranac so I jumped at the opportunity. We left western mass by 7am Friday in order to arrive and setup camp by noon.

Mike at the Lower Saranac marina set us up with a 16’ Lund, 20 hp motor and a garmin fish finder for a very reasonable price. After loading up the gear and setting up our camp we were fishing by 1. We struggled at first but managed to land 2 smallies over 3lbs, countless dink smallies and a solid pike around 7lbs. Over the next couple days we had consistent action. I landed a smallie at 3.3lbs and pike at 3, 5, 7 and 8lbs plus a rat.  Most of the larger fish were caught trolling w the exception being the smaller smallmouths.

The weather was excellent with a nice chill to the air at night. I think one night it may have even touched freezing. It’s definitely something that I will be doing again in the future.

Yes sir.  We left early Friday morning to get up there.  Then we woke up early Monday, trolled a little before the marina opened at 9, which allowed me to land my 8lber and then were home by about 2.

Yup it was great to get away and unplug.  Although we did get to watch some NFL on sunday while we made lunch.  One guy who is a browns fan even sat at the camp all afternoon while we crushed fish to see the Browns TIE!

I was in adirondacks in july.. didnt fish much.. but I was in lower middle and upper saranac.. so beautiful!!!!!! I definitely plan on going there again NEXT TIME TO FISH
