That's very interesting. On a similar vein up in northern Michigan Lake Superior State College is rearing salmon and releasing them into the Great Lakes. They have a very high survival rate vs. other hatcheries because instead of handling the fish to move and plant, they basically just pull a plug on the tanks and the fish go right out the drain to the nearest waterway.

I hatch and raise various species of trout annually but have been told that Salmo solar is a whole different animal.  A touchy species.
