First brookie of the season
« on: Mar 25, 2019, 03:13 PM »
Went out to a little blueline stream near me yesterday and managed a single brookie for my trouble, headed to a bit bigger water later in the day and despite a large midge hatch and some small black stones hatching wasn’t able to connect with anything. The brookie came on a bastardized nymph pattern of my own creation thats somewhere between a hares ear and a wooly bugger. Waters still real cold but the hatches lead me to believe it’ll be picking up here in the next few weeks.

Good Lord, that's a tiny brookie!

Good job - - Anyone can catch a big fish, but it takes real finesse to catch a small one.

Very nice 👍
Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in awell preserved body; but rather to skid in side ways totally worn out shouting (holy sh*t)  WHAT A RIDE! FISH ON!.

I got a stream near me that is loaded with small brookies. 10" is a monster. Those little ones are very tasty.
I fish every chance I get and enjoy every time I fish. They call it fishing not catchin

Micro fishing is a real thing!  You should see some of the tiny sculpins species hunters get.
