Favorite Fly for Stream/River fishing NH
« on: Mar 28, 2019, 01:49 PM »
In my very very limited experience a bead head olive wooly bugger has landed me more fish than anything else.

What say you?

If you’re not from NH what do you like, and where are you from?

Green Leech would be in any survival kit I ever made up
It’s not being Cocky if you can back it up.

What’s the difference between a leech pattern and a wooly bugger? I’m very new to this, but the googles really makes them look very similar?

They are very similar, especially when wet not much difference at all. My spin on the ones I make just use more Leech yarn and are more streamline, more action to them

Here in  New York, I love a gold beadhead pheasant tail nymph, size 14 or 16 and a tan elk hair caddis in the same sizes. When all else fails use an Adams!Like to fish 100 times and get 1000 trout, C&R ::) ::) ::)

From Mass but do all my fishing in NH an some Maine waters ....For early stream fishing I’ll use a green and or brown wooly bugger...then switch to Lt. Cahill ( my name ) and Parachute Adams as the season progresses....Just for kicks I have a couple of grey ghost that I’ll try if I get out in my canoe; but I fish mainly small streams an beaver bogs..and 1 larger river and the tribes that flow off of it

If I could only have two it’d be a white mosquito for dry fly and a small olive wooly bugger with a yellow wrap for wet fly

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
