That’s a beast!
Next door neighbor got this one this morning.

Looks like we’ll be cutting up deer tomorrow.

Just finished helping him get the Hyde off. Massive deer. Only an 8 point but well over 200lbs. It’ll cool overnight and we’ll cut it up tomorrow or the next day. Weather is perfect to wait a bit.

This is the neighbor I helped when he had dental surgery. First thing he did was cut out the tenderloins and give them to me. A good friend for sure. I haven’t been without venison since I met him.

I’ll tel you what else hunting is about....friendship.

I helped my neighbor butcher his massive deer this afternoon. It was nice and cool and we got more meat off that buck than I’ve ever seen off any deer. The neck alone weighed 25 lb....maybe more.   He gifted me with two of the 6 blackstrap  chunks, 4” dia x 12” long ( biggest I’ve ever seen) , a few packages of steaks, the tenderloins and several packages out nicely trimmed stew meat.

We sat at my house and had a cocktail when we were done. A day well spent in friendship. Hope he gets a couple more.

That is awesome RG.

Well we had a fun weekend, saw a lot of deer. Everyone in our crew saw bucks, a few were passed and a few narrowly escaped!

I did get a coyote.

It means more to me than the kill, that is for sure. It is a “family tradition” for us.
