We thought we would try somewthing different. We are going to give a clue related to fishing trivia. The first member with the correct answer will win a ten pack of baits from Niffken.com. :thumbup_smilie:
Each night we will add a new clue until we get the correct answer ... this is for fun and for all MFF members.
Only one guess per post please .... don't rattle off 20 guesses in a post.

We have a winner !
Man you guys are good. I thought this would have gone at least two days !!
For those that don't know The Flying Fisherman ran from I believe 1963 thru about 1970. He had a float plane and fished a different body of water each week. I also believe he had the first "fishing show" on TV. Around 1940 a network aired "home movies" of him fishing. He also entertained our troops during WWII with his movies and easy going nature. I believe he was from Maine.
Congrats Mac ... contact me with name/addy !!

way to go mac!! thanks to lonewolf and Niffken.com for another cool chance to win!! :clapping:

Thanks for the new contest... pretty cool idea! :thumbup_smilie:
-
Darn Mac, if you had retired last week you'd have still been sleeping and I'd have scored. ;D
Way to go. As a kid I was a Gadabout wannabe. He was a character for sure. Rode the rails during the depression. Hooked on with a fish camp in Fla and when the guy died he left it to Gadabout. From there he rose to "fame"' as, was it the Flying Fisherman or the Fly In Fisherman?
-
thats not fair, i wassnt even born yet ???
mac you old fart, and your picking on bob ;D
-
Jerry it was The Flying Fisherman. ;D
-
Way to go Mac, you old b%st%rd! ;) ;D

Mac you dog you. Whatta'ya doin' up that late anyway? I didn't even know about this contest until I got to work this morning. Then I had to dodge the boss, scroll thru a couple of pages of wrong answers looking to see if anyone guessed Gadabout Gaddis before I could post it, and all for nothin'. Anyway good pluck and let us know what they gave you for winning. Uh-oh here comes the boss!
-
Way to go Mac. :thumbup_smilie:
I have never heard of that show, it ran before my time.
Your first clue was fishing show, I see how that tyed in as that's what it was about, but how does the cold part of the clue tye in, did he film lot of icefishing shows? Just curious. :)

-
It's so cold around here I had to make sure I wasn't on IceShanty !
-
I think he just meant cold as in you're not even close..there shouldn't have been a 2nd clue until tonight if nobody had guessed it. ;)
-
I think that was just Lonewolf playing Hot/Cold with us... We were all guessing new shows and that show is one of the oldest, so the new show guess were cold.... ;)
-
yeah, thats what the cold meant, he just started the trivia last night and only one clue a night, so cold wassnt a clue
mac, you old fart, not fair, how many people guessing were born before 63?
-
I see, thanks Mac for clearing it up, and don't worry about acting like a kid,
you are as young as you feel. ;)
WW
-
Hey Mac, if they could dig up some of the clips of his old show these young "kids" around here would think it was a comedy show.
-
Hey LoneWolf, you gotta start this contest in the morning when we're all at work so we have something to do. ::) Not everyone has a computer at home, and even if you do you can't get the kids away from it.

Just lock them outside ;D

Arch, I was born before '63 (1955) so I guess I'm an old fart like Mac. I used to watch this show all the time, it probably helped to get me hooked on fishing. Also, he did go to a whole bunch of far-away places ( at least far-away to us when we were young ) so that was pretty cool.
-
Yea.
And it had some real good special effects.
I'm trying to remember if it was in color or B/W.
Our tube was B/W.
HA!
Tough to remember it in color then...unless you had a very vivid imagination :P
-
I remember it was in black and white but my next door neighbor said it was in color. But he was looking at it through the windowpane. ::)
-
Cool game! Congrat's Mac. You deserve to win!
-
Good job, Mac!!! Your lucky that I am only 18!!!! I wasnt born when that show was on, lol. But good job anyways! ;D
-
way to go old man. lol
-
It looks like everyone enjoyed this trivia game. I spoke with Niffken.com and we are going to do it a few more times. It will be done randomly so check in. Tonight will be round two ... with another clue !! ;D
-
are you going to erase all this and start a new thread or just add it on the tail end of this one?
-
I think this time the prize should be a day trip on Mac's boat!!! ;)
-
Just kiddin' Mac. I don't know you, never met you, but I think you've got a good sense of humor. So what're we goin for?
-
I think this time the prize should be a day trip on Mac's boat!!! ;)
i would bet top dollar if you made a point to come down and fish out with mac he would be more than happy to take you, and talk about the days before TV ;D bring pennies and tequila ;)
-
Thank's Mac!! Maybe some day. I'm dying to find out what this penny thing means anyway.
-
Darn I thought I had the answer until I came to Mac's post Gadabout Gaddis. ya beat me to it Mac. ;D
