Rico that fish is definately a pumpkinseed.   The readear I usually catch are more on the silverish side.

dont see pumpkinseed listed in my dnr guide...must be a redear ;D

Rico, the pumkinseeds will have teal colored vein-like lines on it. As a rule the pumpkinseed is a smaller fish than a redear.

nope thats a redear i catch them all the time here on the south-side of indianapolis.

Nope, the fish was a pumpkinseed, just as the fish in the top photograph is a pumpkinseed.  The fish you are catching in Indy are pumpkinseeds if they look like the fish in the top picture.  The fish is a pumpkinseed.

I agree with crappie66.  I've never seen a Redear that brightly colored, or with worm-like markings on the face.  If the flash on the camera went off that could have washed out the teal coloring, although you can still see it a little bit on the head.
