I caught a 26" channel out of the inlet at Minatare on March 19th on cutbait.

I'll have a report for Box Butte after tomorrow night....hopefully it's a good one!   :thumbup_smilie:

Looks like a great time. Congratulations on the nice fish, they are the perfect eating size.

Pike can be great out of the skillet. After I learned the best way to get the Y bones out my wife told me that she likes ice caught pike almost as well as perch.

Always enjoy looking at fishing pictures.

Thanks for posting---keep it up. 8)

Looks like a lot of folks had the same idea about this weekend.  Took the Family out thisweekend, beautiful weather.  Fish were out there but some were kind of elusive.  Ended up with one wiper and two eyes.  Not bad.  Water temp was 57 at the warmest.  Inlet had plenty of water running through, although the water level is still down.  Its amazing to see the former water level on the trees.
All in all, had a good time!

We fished Minatare Sunday and had about the same results.  A handful of white bass and that was about it.  Most fish came near the inlet throwing jigs or crankbaits.  No eyes to be found.  How did you guys catch yours?

My son actually caught them.  Shiner pattern crank bait.  In the trees no less.  That kid has some luck!  Fun though!

Fished Saturday, caught 4 eyes, biggest was 16" and one 10" perch.  Hot and windy day on the water...
