Spring/Spinning Musky Gear

Since I made this thread I got way too addicting to fly fishing so I haven't done as much musky fishing as I thought I would have. Right now I have a 8 ft med heavy saltwater rod with a penn fierce and 20lb power pro. I did manage to lose a small musky in the figure 8 cause the top swivel on my steel leader got caught in the last eye on my rod

I would go a little bigger on your braid. 50lb braid minimum if you have a setup for targeting muskies specificly..

I had planned to step it up to like 30lb braid. I don't think i'll need to go that big for the small NJ/PA muskies I'll be fishing for. I think 30lb will be plenty of strength to horse the fish to the boat and release it in good shape.
