Dead Gobies
« on: May 19, 2006, 10:41 AM »
Has anyone witnessed the dead gobies that were reported in the Syracuse paper this morning. Supposedly thousands are washing up on shore. Sounds like the old days of mooneyes littering the shores.

FK...I watched the news report tonight on the local (Watertown) TV station..and there are thousands of them washed up on shore...it's not as bad as I recall years ago when the smelt washed up on the shorelines on Chaumont Bay back in the 70's..but it's bad enough.

The interview tonight said the same thing as they said out in Michigan about the dying off of the game fish out there...quick water temp fluctuations, etc....results may be back from Cornell in a couple days or a couple weeks they said..Esox

Let them die.  Nature has a way of fixing itself, hopefully not at the expense of the indiginous species.
