Another dumb question from a new- old boat owner...
« on: Jun 02, 2006, 07:57 PM »
This one is really simple- does the boat trailer have to registered as well as the boat? It's a fifteen footer if that helps any.

The trailer has to be registered if you plan on using it.  The boat only needs to be registered if you are going to put a motor on it (gas or electric).

Trailers have to be registered and inspected, too.  8)
Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

I live with FEAR everyday, and sometimes she lets me go fishing!

Register it.  Some police cruise parking areas at boat launches looking for unregistered trailers.  It just cost me $205 to find that out.
I know enough, I just can't think of most of it.

I expect that was: not registered
                              uninspected
                              court costs

Just a guess, the court costs are often worse than the fines....then of course add on the added insurance premiums.
Life is what you make it...and if that doesn't work stretch the truth 'til it at least sounds good.

That was for unregistered.  $150 fine and $55 surcharge.  The trailer was in the state parking lot at Chataqua (sp?) while my sons and I were out catching nothing.
I know enough, I just can't think of most of it.

Man that is a tuff day of fishing! The skunk and the fine HARSH!!!
Hear ya they even look for the little sticker on the plates.
Gotta love the surcharges almost as much as some fines.
Internet heros give it a rest!
