I went out a couple times before the cold and snow this past week - there were a few out but they were real hole huggers, and there wasn't enough to make it worth my while .....
-
same here I did go out right at daybreak one morning and found a bunch of small worms (panfish size) crawling in the driveway easy pickins
-
Nice - I got my box ready to go and everything before hand too. Figures - normally I go out to see if there are any, pick a mess of them - THEN have to get my box ready - I jinxed myself......LOL

Yea, back up on Erie we would burn through tons of crawlers in a summer.
Tons!!!
I always ordered from here -

When we owned the Barcelona Market, we ordered worms from Weekly wholesale bait. 7 flats every week. We sold a lot of worms, especially during the Southtowns tournament. Could not keep Hi tech worm harnesses in stock either. Dave would come by every week during the summer.

I've had good luck with them as well - used to buy bulk spikes from them

Yes, we only ever bought crawlers, but they were always very healthy and lively. We always took them out of the bedding after they arrived to sort out weak or dead crawlers as recommended on their website. But I’ll be honest, I don’t remember ever culling out any.
-
I saw where they had been out last night. With the wet weather coming there should be lots available this week I'll get a few

Snow just left here last night - should be a good week for picking coming up !
-
once the eclipse occures they will come out be ready and pick fast when the sun comes out :rotflol:
-
And….they'll be extra potent crawlers…..full of eclipse energy. Probably have to chase them down.

they have that earthquake energy too ,be very careful handling them if they wrap around your finger they will break it !!!!
-
I knew there was a reason I don't like worms.
-
Earthquake AND pre-eclipse is a bad combo .....I had one yesterday that pulled me into its hole all the way up the elbow - finally had to let go .....and that was just a trout worm .....won't touch a crawler for at least another week.....
-
Picked 110+ last night in 30 minutes ....great night - just wore shorts and sandals ......could have gotten a lot more but my back said "go watch the hockey game" instead .....
-
Picked another 110+ last night before the rain came - got pretty wet last night
