Well, my decision to take a few weeks off from the ridiculous crowd of people at Lowes who can't think.....at all....about the safety of themselves or their CHILDREN.....gives me time to renovate my Fly Tying room.
The new work station.

Still thinking out the remaining work surfaces.

Rod rack and material storage.

Shelving for more stuff

Even tied a few Mop Flies

And....sorted a mass of tangled jigs.

Most of what's in place, was already there. Just re-arranged. It's getting there.

RG, I envy your ability to look out the windows when you're at work. Nice set-up.

Yeah, I love the corner windows. I used to tie in the basement. Gets depressing after a while. I've been cooped up in the basement all winter in the little wood shop. Time for some daylight.

Tomorrow I'm pursuing some "solitary outdoor activity" ....AKA fishing! I have some perch in mind.

Changed plans this morning and stayed closer to home. It was just too darned cold for my old hands. Hit a few spots on the canal and found a ton of little bluegills. Very relaxing. I'll take a ride to some other springtime haunts tomorrow.

Got a few more ideas for the bench to play with later today.

Thanks Bart.
With time on my hands for the next couple weeks, it's a pleasure to have a good hobby.

Working on more nymphs.
The Bead Head Turkey Tail nymph.

Ran out of pheasant tail one time and discovered that I like turkey tail even better. Gills and perch were taking this one yesterday.

I wouldn't be surprised if it worked when they get up in a slough or creek. I've been getting perch and gills on the PT.
Tried the flyrod yesterday but there's a big hill behind me where I'm fishing and it's a long cast. The two didn't work with the wind in my face so I went to a spinning rod and bobber jigging.

Got a few decent perch this morning then they just shut off.

Think I'm going to take a whack at some PT jigs in bright colors. Nice to be back at the bench. I'm a little rusty, but it's coming around.
