Ahh, Dire Straights, Traveling Wilburys, Van Morrison and a little Clapton Blues thrown in.

Here's my attempt at a PT jig in Chartreuse.

Love tying freehand. Might even work🙄

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I was shooting for the hot colors. Orange, pink, Chartreuse......good trigger flies for panfish.
Probably have a few "Uglies" in my collection. I'll take a look. It's a good ugly fly.

Well, with time on my hands and no desire to be sociable, I decided to condense my fly boxes into something manageable. For years I've kept my flies in compartment boxes and they drive me nuts. They always get mixed up as I load and unload my carry boxes.

So...I decided on a change.

The fly explosion on my bench

Mounted to foam sheets.

3 boxes of flies and 2 boxes of jigs in one small container. Sort of a fly file. Haven't figured out what to do with the bass flies as yet.

Still have my dries and nymphs in the boxes. They're easy to maintain.

While I was at it I put out my fly reel collection. It hasn't had a home in a while.

A good way to spend a socially distanced day.

Can't believe I just typed that.

Hey Robert, y'all are just to organized !! Nice work, going to attempt to jig up some perch on Canandaigua  Saturday with the son. Has to be at least 50 degree's for this 84 year old geezer. Just returned from Florida, plenty of busting clay's and golf.
Keep in touch. Always enjoy your posts.

What a nice surprise to hear from you Jud. Welcome back! Glad all is well with you.

You could have brought some 70 degree weather with you. Good luck jigging!

Tying some soft hackle Hare's Ears for gills.

Killing some time till it warms up a bit. Thinking about hitting the backyard stream a bit later with some spinners. Never know what I might find.

Stream was still up and stained so I passed. Decided to start replenishing my foam flies.

Keeps me from playing with my toes anyway.

Bumping RG's original thread up as it's that time of the year again and there's good info in here. Who's tying?

Other than last Saturday, I haven't picked up a fishing rod since the end of October. I have been tying though. I bought new fly boxes for my son's for Christmas and tied an assortment to put in their boxes.  After that, I started tying for my boxes. Started tying a bunch  "Frenchies" or "Hot Spot" Pheasant tails as I've never used them before but they seem to be the rage.  Got to field test them last Saturday on  the Delaware River border water and they worked as I hooked up with 11 very nice trout, both browns and rainbows. I've also been tying compara-duns for the spring as you can never have enough of those on the Delaware system.

I like those frenchies!

Hey...how about your favorite hopper patterns. I need something new to tie!

Let's see some!
