Garbage Weather - What are you doing during it?
« on: May 09, 2020, 01:39 PM »
Decided to build a little 5’ ultralight one pc spinning rod today that I’ve been delaying.
I have 2 of them to build and will sell one of them and the other will be gift.
This will be a plane black thread wrap.
The other plane but with red thread.
The buyer will get their choice of red or black.
I have the handle built and epoxied to the blank - did this after bfast.
Now allowing the epoxy to setup.
It’s a fast 15 minute epoxy but I’ll give it an hour before I go back down and start wrapping.

Nice, post a pic when done.

I built a temporary rod holder rack today, repurposing some old ram tubes from my old boat.  Runs across my back seat hole, where I'm securing it when in use. I don't troll much anymore but want the option to and can also use them for anchor and bait fishing like Hudson stripers. Whole thing pops off when I don't need it, no holes in the new boat.

I did a little shooting yesterday morning before the weather went down hill... Today I cleaned three handguns, stripping them completely down. Did the same to the kitchen stove too. I ran the dishwasher and even did a load of laundry. The highlight of the day was RIBS!

Tomorrow I plan on making a PVC rod rack for the garage. I had bought everything for it about a year ago, I think I put it off long enough. Also online church, then a NASCAR eRACE and some Hot Chicken Wings!

Been getting the boat ready. New hitch and wiring for lights on the car, disassembled and cleaned the boat steering, reset the carburator linkage , adjusted the timing, vacuumed the boat carpets.....by the time i was done my garage tool box was really pissing me off. Seemed i had to search to fnd anything. I hate that.

So, the rest of the afternoon i spent reorganizing. Almost done.

Watched sunshine go to whiteout more times than i could count today. Really strange weather.

I need to rewire my boat trailer but I keep putting it off. I'm getting lazy in my old age.

Got 4 of the eyes wrapped, the hook stay, and the tip top.
My back and shoulders got stiff and my eyes gave out.
I have 4 more eyes to wrap tomorrow and then I’ll lay epoxy onto them.
Time to sit and watch some tube.
Something I very rarely do.

Nice rack, Bart!  :D  Actually turned into a nice sunny 60* day here. I completely went thru the riding mower today......already had changed the oil, plugs, etc, greased and lubed it. Today I pulled the wheels, greased the axle shafts, and rotated all 4 tires. Made a removable hitch/hook for it, depending on if I want to yank something outta the ground or pull a wagon...other assorted puttering in the shop/garage. Helped the neighbor re-seed her yard and get rid of some dead Bermuda grass for a putting green some clown planted there years ago.   ::)
