How many of you fisherman never bring live  bait when targeting crappie?
I almost alway have minnows but last yr did real well on small plastics...nice not to be messing with minnows if you just don't need to be

Seems around here if I have a hot bite I just switch to plastic but if not I just  use bobber and minnow
think I'm going with two rods this yr one with minnow one with jig
I use bucktails
and small plastics

We did a live bait test last summer. Had 4 rods out with minnows and oldest boy and I were throwing marabou's and crappie magnets. The boy and I caught more than anyone else. I've been throwing artificials there for the last couple years and that's the first time we did a side by side comparison on the boat to see what happened.

Does anyone toss and catch crappie on night crawlers? Maybe under a float instead of a shiner?

Usually just curly tailed jigs on a lead head, sometimes under a bobber depending where they are

Just gulp minnows for me.
