27#???  You towing a vehicle or lures?    ;D ;D Seriously, try the 12# & you'll get more fish movement after hook up.

12lb Suffix and 12lb Suffix 832.  Both work alright, the 832 does sink more per color the regular stuff.  Wanna try out the Micro lead.

I used the 14# in the past and had far too many break offs.
Also very hard to thread the leader up inside the Dacron casing on the thin stuff when I want to tie it that way.
Also, the salmon and trout we have in here in Lake Ontario warrant more than 12-14# line.
I got tired of losing fish, but more importantly, losing gear.

The 27# stuff works fine for us.
But thanks.

I assume Bob was thinking your catching 2-5lb Maine fish. Not the Lake O Monsters lol.

Yup, and I have to be honest, I really typically catch Lake Erie walleye.
They are normally 5-8# but we do get them over 10 occasionally.
Still, I don't like losing gear.
I ran the lighter 14# for about 2 yrs and for the <10% increase in catch ratio it wasn't worth the headaches.

But he's right.
Lighter is better in a lot of instances.

On the last of the old 12# Cabelas Eric, so I will be watching this thread with interest.

I've only used it a few times this year and just a couple fish hauled in with it but I'm real happy with the tuf line micro lead I just spooled up on my penn. Next time I re spool my other reels I'll switch them all over to it.
