Anybody gettin' any walleyes on the lower Susky?
« on: May 12, 2007, 05:10 PM »
Went out with a friend earlier this week from first light to mid-afternoon below Safe Harbor and the bite was slow.  One keeper about 19" and a few cigarettes about 9" to 11", along with a couple of smallies.  Tough to put a program together as the fish hit shiners, worms, gulp! goodies, power bait goodies, etc.  Threw the kitchen sink at 'em but nothing came together.  Plenty of boat and bank anglers, but not much action happening.  A friend in another boat said they had a hotspot, but we tried it and didn't get a bump or mark a fish.  Saw some reports on other boards that fish (mostly bass) are being caught upriver.  Just wondered what the scoop was.  Thanks.
