Walleye wings
« on: May 07, 2020, 01:52 PM »
Was watching Milliken walleye fishing show and seen one where he was catching walleye and they did something I had never seen before and they cut what they call the walleye wings off and cooked them up and ate them. So we did this with some we caught the other day and they turned out pretty good just have to fine tune how I cook them. Also seen several nice walleye carcasses laying on the bank with the cheek meat still there, took me awhile before I found out about the cheek meat and now just hate to see that delicious piece of meat go to waste when other are not aware of it. So thought I might just throw the wings out there and see what others think about them. Good fishing to all

I started taking the Wings a few years ago, don't really care for them breaded like wings but grilled with butter and salt/pepper they are mighty tasty!!

Problem that I found though is that they tend to make a hole in a quart size bag so have learned to make fresh.....
