My family and another family stayed at a camp this past week. Lots of fun on the water. I couldn’t find any Brown trout trolling but had fun with the smallies. My wife got a smallie and lots of perch while worm burning. My friend Julie wanted to go out. We hooked into a 37” pike trolling down 38 ft. I got it close to the boat and asked her to reel so I could net the fish. She wasn’t use to handle on the left so accidently the handle fell off. We ended up landing the fish by pulling line through the gides. It was funny to land my PB Pike that way. 🤣

Some good eats there!!
Beer battered, and deep fried pike is a favorite in my house.
I have a picture of my son laying next a pike like that, hard to believe it was 10 years ago.

Just out of curiosity did you know you can get 5 fillets out of them?

I did not know that . I ran my knife between the skin and back bone on both sides when cleaning it. I hardly ever fish for them. After the thrill of landing it and having it thrashing in the boat maybe try for them again.

This is how I do it, I didn't know what you tube was until I saw this video years ago.

That Pike is a beauty. I lost 2 of them on a recent fishing trip. Smaller than that one but great fighters. I will be trying for them again myself. Good eating too. The 5 filet method is slick.
