Great info on the C 4. Thanks.  I’ll look in to that.

Don't think I paid for shipping in a while from mudhole, usually spent over 100 and then its free.
Got a bunch of NFC ice rods blanks and sold em this winter, made a bunch.
Want to make a light 7'6' fly rod something in the 2-4 wt. Heard the same about the MX supporters loving the fly rods?
The 7wt NFC I build for my son is a snappy fly rod he uses for the chrome. Built a 6wt st croix years ago and that's what I use for bass/topwater.

Have not built a fly rod in a while, be nice to make a little guy!

I have one I haven't built yet.
I bought it almost 3 yrs ago Rich.
Forgot what wt it is.   :rotflol: :rotflol: :rotflol:
I have the reel and line for it.
Too bad.
I'll be staying on the Allegheny in Olean from 6/14 thru the end of August.
I coulda used it there.
I'll have spinning rods with.
Get it together and drop it by the house? Just leave me a message when ya do. It can be built pretty quick.

Why would I do that?
I have the gear/equipment to build it.
Besides, I'm 1500 miles south of you buddy.
Dropping it off really isn't an option.
If I was that close to you, I could also swing by the old house and use Jeff's gear to build it.
It will get built.  Eventually.
But for now, I am busy with contractors getting some work done.
5 weeks from last Monday we leave though.
Whether the contractors are done or not.

Up at 4 am.  Lunch is packed, just make a thermos and after the morning duties I hit the road. Stopped for a quick coffee and into the launch by 5:30.  Had to wait for someone to clear out so I put the fly rod together and tied a jig on the ultra-light. Then slid the boat in.

Weather: Over cast just comfy temps and no wind- Ya Baby a day with the fly rod!
Jump in the boat . Look out gills......Dead battery     Oh sh3+!3t  After some tinkering, head scratching, and trying to pull a 50 horse over by hand, I surrendered to the notion that I'm too old for this and back on the trailer it went. I suppose I may have left the key in the on position as all switches were off. Was very quiet at the launch ( as it should be mid week) so there were no offers of a jump start. Back home I fired up the charger and we're back in business. My fault for not doing the check list last nite.

Next week I'll have some more spare time  I hope.

Don't feel bad, happens to everyone. Like going to your favorite trout stream on a perfect day  with no one there and forgetting your fly reel! :'( :'( :'(

No jumper cables (or wire) in the tow vehicle?
You could have spent 30-60 minutes with your tow vehicle charging the boat battery.
Or, swap the batteries to get the boat running.

I now have a jump start in my truck.
The ones these days are very small and relatively inexpensive.
Here is the one I bought.
Love it.
