What is your favorite line for fishing trout in streams, rivers or ponds. I am looking for something that casts far.

Oh Lord,
There he is.
Feels like a big one.
Please don’t let me lose him.
I’ve never caught one this big before.
I’ll try not to horse him.
And if I land him I promise to release him
And make a graphite replica...
If my wife says it’s okay.
Thank you for the Rapalas.
Amen.

on my ultra light setup i use 4lb Vanish. Thats mainly for brookies and bows' in small creeks. I'll usually be tossing small panther martins, mepps, cleos.... it casts good considering i'm using a 4'8" rod and small lures, the line spools of very smoothly.

i've used Vanish, Vanish Transition, PLine, Spider mono, and finally the new Trilene Flouro this year; all in 4 lb. I haven't had any problems and love how they get my spinners right down to the creekbed. I would say that the Transition is better than all except I do like the new 100% flouro this year.

casting 6lb p-line floroclear, trolling is 8lb. if price wasn't an issue then i would use segar carbon pro floro. i like vanish as leader, good under abrasive conditions, but find it too stiff for casting.

I standby Vanish and Vanish transition.... it also seems to be somewhat snag resistant for fishing smaller wooded creeks

I use 6lb. Fireline Crystal. It is only 2lb diameter and is almost invisible under water. Casts a mile to.
