'Twas the Day Before Christmas
« on: Dec 25, 2017, 07:32 AM »
'Twas the day before Christmas and Jim C. was out,
Sliding about and looking for trout.

The first spot was locked up and he busted his butt,
With a few locals telling him that he was a nut.

As hard as he tried, there wasn't a bite,
But no giving up without a fight.

The solution for this was to head for the coast,
Where in winter the fish often bite most.

A walk through this marsh led to a stream,
Where the brookies were slammin' like it was a dream.

Merry Christmas!

Jim, Nice trout and a jingle too! You and Randall are tough to be open water fishing.

Great post for Christmas time Jim, and those Trout weren't little ones either - well worth your search.

When it comes to open water winter fishing
I have not a clue
Instead forced to live vicariously
reading posts from you

I could travel miles and miles
in my search
Content to catch even a cold,
let alone a trout or a perch

So imagine my glee
When I happened to see
A post of wit and adventure
from our own Jim C

Thanks for sharing pics and well wishes
I for one am glad you got out
The same to you and your family
As this is what Christmas is all about.

Happy holidays and Happy New Year to all!

Nice, Mike.  Thanks.  Maybe we can be poets in our retirements and write a book of fishing verse 8) ;D
