yah, 20 lb is ridiculous.  I use 4lb ultralight set up for all of my panfishing.  i use a 9 ft. ultra light rod with a pflueger micro reel and the 4lb.  Hook into a 14inch perch or 11inch redear it is one nice lil fight.  Makes the panfishing a littl emore fun than having that 20lb test and just pullin em straight in.  20lb is just overkill..  If your fishing a lake where you have a chance to hook into walleye or something like that i would then think about using 6lb or maybe 8lb.

Summertime I fish deep (60ft) so I like to use braided line with a 6lb leader,as it gives me a better feel for the fish.
