Well I've been writing in a journal, but have realized that I have a lot more pics, so I start a thread over here.
It's Thursday and Pike season has been open for 6 days now. Today is the second day of fishing that I'm going to miss. The season has been good so far and heres some pictures to prove it.
Opening day I headed to Conesus solo. Nobody would go because they said it was cold and windy, the girl thingies missed out.
First Conesus bass of the year, a nice well feed specimen:
1ST: Conesus pike of the year, a 24" with a beer gut!!!
Shortly there after I upped the auntie a little to a 27"
Also caught 2 smaller pike, another bass, and one HUGE bullhead that took a 6" plus stickbait in the middle of the day.
Sunday I headed out to my favorite pike creek for some quiet fishing with KC, we didn't get anything to big but had fun. It was MINT out and it was time to break out the grill. The highlight or (low light for me) of the day was when I tried to help KC unhook a hammer handle he caught I took a brand new treble hook to the web of skin between my thumb and index finger. It went in and out and it f@##in hurt. After a quick session of self surgery I was medicting myself and back fishing. Note to self be careful when unhooking pike that are flopping around like crazy.
1ST pike of the year at the creek.
A nice spot to stop and grill.
Some nice grilled flesh for 2 hungry fisherman
I skipped fishing Monday to prepare for an all day adventure to Conesus on Tuesday. Man was it worth it. Weather was great, 80's sunny and the lake was like glass with very few boats out.
KC started the morning out right with this 30" but he needs to learn how to hold a fish
Same fish better pic.
My first of the day a respectable 24"
After stopping in and cooking lunch we were back at it and I hooked in to this slob, 35" but I didn't have a scale to weigh it.
Not to long before we left me and KC pulled a double with KC getting the larger of the two so I got stuck taking the pic
29"
We ended up boating 7 pike, lost a few more to hook spitters and short strikes. Awesome day though.
Went back to my favorite pike creek Wednesday night, water was in worse shape then sunday, went 1 for 2 with a hammer handle in the boat and another injury. This time I got pike teeth to the hand and it bleed worse than the hook on sunday!!!!
All fish pictured above and caught were released.
Watch out Maine team NY is coming!!!!
I'm sorry but due to lurkers and
bergall's
I had to edit some pics.
