dwaytkus's Chronicles(Multiple trips 7/3 Pg. 12)
« on: Mar 23, 2006, 07:26 PM »
Well I was thinking about doing some open water fishing at work all day , so I made it to a local spot at about 5pm and didn't really care what I caught but just was enjoying the fresh air.  My line not being wet a minute and pulled in the first fish of the spring.  A nice perch which in the next half hour I caught 13 more.  Here is a picture of the first fish.

And I even managed this double.  ;D
Oh Lord,
There he is.
Feels like a big one.
Please don’t let me lose him.
I’ve never caught one this big before.
I’ll try not to horse him.
And if I land him I promise to release him
And make a graphite replica...
If my wife says it’s okay.
Thank you for the Rapalas.
Amen.

very nice, like the double rig, may have to use a set up like that.  ;) Although my single little tubie works just fine.  ;D WTG on 1st open water fish of the spring.  :thumbup_smilie: can't wait for the great crappie run.  8) See ya then, tight lines.
Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

I live with FEAR everyday, and sometimes she lets me go fishing!

Well I did some shore fishing yesterday and today I brought my wife and fished for a while.  The perch bite and bullhead bite is insane.  You can't keep two poles in the water for any length of time!  The perch seemed to be about 20 yards out from shore and the bullhead were a little farther.  I catch and released both days.  I was thinking of keeping a few bullhead to try but will wait till next trip.  I took only the one picture to show the average size of what we were catching.

Made it out yesterday after work to see if the crappies were biting yet, and boy were they.  When I arrived I tryed a spot that usually produces.  Hooked the fathead on and in the water, a second or two later and the bobber was gone.  In about an hours time I landed 20 crappies, 3 bullhead and 3 perch.  I also lost about 7 crappies at the edge of the water.  Here are some pictures of what I brought home.  I brought the 3 bullhead home to try them for the first time and Lance you were right.....TASTY!!!!   ;D
