I agree rg best , back in 2010 I had a case of them and a case of hands down best wings Lanova out of Buffalo hot bbq grilled wings sent over seas to my son on a ship outside Iraq for him and his crew packed frozen ,cost a sh"" pile of money but they were very thankful,to say the least ,!! My other  son in Texas when he comes home packs an extra bag with them when he has direct flight back to Texas ,my son in Buffalo is a saylenes fan ,there good but not zwiegals

I Agree with your son in Buffalo, Sahlen’s are better!

It’s a regional thing. My friend who went to school at Oswego swears by Hofmann, it’s a nonstop battle when we camp.
 
But neither can compete with a venison hotdog...

Used to bring me home rice pudding.
Not healthy, but awesome!

There's another great bar in East Aurora...BarBills ...that serves an awesome beef on Weck. Carved for you right at the bar. Killer horseradish too.

In my opinion, Charlie the Butcher has gone downhill a bit over the years. Agreed, very expensive.
I work in WNY and have had an apartment in Depew for 20 years. Mac were practically neighbors!!
BarBills is very good! Schwabels is very good too, but very expensive.
My all time favorite is Beef and Barrel in Olean.
Can’t wait to get back out that way to get a beef on Weck!!

B&B in Olean has always been really good.

Schwabl's I consider just like Charlie's - very good meat, but not heavy portions, and way over priced.  And the d**n place is really dark inside.  lol


One of the best roast beasts I have had in recent years is at the VFW in Angola on Rt5.
I dare you to finish it, very reasonably priced, and the meat is tasty and tender.

Another WNY delicacy- Costanzo rolls.
Their kimmelweck is the roll of choice when making hot roast beef samiches at home. Always bring back a dozen when visiting family.

Their sub rolls are used by Stewart’s which is a nice remainder of the quality of Costanzo’s product.
